Artist and author Mary Deutschman's exhibit, Naples in Color, showcases an eclectic collection of works by the artist in water-soluble oils, offering a vibrant, sometimes whimsical portrayal of the natural elements, landscapes and still life images that set our community apart.
Says Deutschman, "I see vibrant color everywhere, and where I don’t see it, I imagine it. Even when I believe a painting to be finished,vI will frequently return to it and add more color."
Deutschman was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and lived there for
most of her life. Over the years, she has worked as a fashion
illustrator, designer and art director. She also ran a commercial art
business. As an artist now residing locally, Deutschman has exhibited
in
numerous locations both in Naples and other areas of the United
States. She is the author of a nonfiction art book titled No
Experience Required: Water-Soluble Oils and was a contributor
to
the book Paint: Illustrated Techniques for Every Medium..
